Woven Polypropylene Sacks Focus

What are woven PP bags?

Woven PP bags are strong and resilient due to the materials they are created with. Threads of plastic polypropylene are woven together to create the initial material, and this is how our woven PP bags remain durable and long-lasting.

There are two different types of woven polypropylene bags. One bag is a standard woven pp which has not been laminated and the other form is a laminated woven polypropylene bag. By choosing the laminated form, you are providing an extra layer which will prolong the bag’s life expectancy as well as protecting it against any harsh elements from the weather during transport or storage.

It is important to remember that a woven polypropylene bag will not be waterproof due to the structures and the spaces within the woven fabric. However, laminating your bags will provide a water-resistant barrier.

Are woven polypropylene bags waterproof?

Not only are our woven polypropylene bags durable and long-lasting, but they can also become water-resistant. These bags are ideal for businesses which handle goods and products which need to be kept protected and safely stored during transportation or storage.

In order for a woven polypropylene bag to become water resistant, a specially designed inner layer or coating must be applied to the finished bag. This is due to the weave design which generally means that the bags will not hold any liquid and therefore will allow moisture to seep through the weave.

Are polypropylene bags good?

The difference between a polypropylene bag and a woven polypropylene bag is the creating process when these bags are made. The woven polypropylene bags are made by weaving the fabrics together. Whereas the polypropylene bags are created using heat to bond the materials together.

Whilst the bags are both useful and economical to our planet, both have advantages and disadvantages in terms of uses.

A polypropylene bag has one big advantage which is helping to make a difference to our planet and its environmental damage. Once this bag has been used and is no longer capable of carrying out its original use, this can be melted down and reused for.

Another great benefit of coated polypropylene bags is the manufacturing cost. Not only are the materials budget-friendly, the whole process is relatively inexpensive. Once the bags have been manufactured, they remain durable and water resistant.

Unlike tote bags which many shoppers have started to use, polypropylene bags can carry a larger array of products which may cause damage to an ordinary tote bag.

Overall, a polypropylene bag can be much more effective, longer lasting, and inexpensive compared to other bags on the market.

What is the difference between woven and non-woven polypropylene bags?

The noticeable difference within a woven and a non-woven polypropylene bag is the manufacturing process. Like the names suggest, one bag’s structure is woven and the other structure is created with heat and a press.

One thing which remains the same is the product they are created from: recycled plastic, and this has had a positive impact on the environment. Recycled plastic is used to create the long lasting, durable bags whether they are woven or not.

By choosing a woven bag over a non-woven bag, you are guaranteed a resilient heavy-duty bag which can withstand stronger pressure from the goods inside. A woven bag can also be expected to better hold its shape during storage and transport ensuring the maintenance and professional look throughout the duration of its use.

Both bags are relatively inexpensive to manufacture and purchase but when it comes to the difference in prices, the non-woven bags can be more cost-effective.

What are polypropylene bags used for?

Polypropylene bags are commonly used as shopping bags throughout stores including supermarkets and department stores. They are reusable and much friendlier to the environment. You should most certainly consider these bags when planning your marketing and promotion of your business.

Are woven polypropylene bags biodegradable?

Before considering the biodegradability of polypropylene, it is important to remember that there are no plastics which are eco-friendly or biodegradable.

Whilst woven polypropylene bags are not biodegradable, they are in fact reusable. However, at the end of their life, when they reach landfill, less toxins are released into the earth than standard plastic bags or synthetics. During the stages of plastic degrading, many toxins are released into the earth which can increase the risks of this entering our water system or our animals ingesting the toxic waste from the ground. This is why LC Packaging is committed to using polypropylene in a way that it can be reused and recycled.

What is woven polypropylene made of?

Woven polypropylene and  non-woven polypropylene are made from the same material, however the process of manufacturing is different.

Our woven polypropylene bags are manufactured using recycled plastics which help make these bags friendlier for the environment. The recycled plastic is spun and stretched until threads are formed which can be woven together to form a hard-wearing and long-lasting bag for commercial and consumer use.

Not only are these bags durable and tough, but they are also tear-resistant which makes them ideal for many different industries. These bags are available in a range of sizes and quantities over in our webshop.

Can you wash polypropylene fabric?

Polypropylene fabric can be washed, however it is important to remember that it is made from plastic and does have a melting point. This means that it is considered unsafe to place any polypropylene fabrics in a tumble dryer as this can decrease its life span or cause irreversible damage.

It is recommended to wash any item which is made from polypropylene by hand or on a gentle cycle in the washing machine. This will prevent any damage being caused during the wash. Line drying is encouraged to maintain its original shape along with reducing the risk of the strength being affected.

Is woven polypropylene safe?

As many of us are aware, the use of plastic in the manufacturing process can be harmful to the environment around us. However, the use of woven polypropylene can make a positive impact on the damage we are causing to our planet.

Firstly, the production of a woven polypropylene bag will release very little pollution during the entire process, unlike standard plastic carrier bags which release a concerning level. For every kg of plastic produced, around 6kg of carbon dioxide is created and released into the atmosphere. This equates to an average of 30 plastic bags, which may seem like a lot but once you have done your full weekly food shop and any clothing or department store purchases, this can soon add up.

Using woven polypropylene bags will drastically reduce the levels of carbon dioxide which is being released into the atmosphere and we can slowly make a difference to the greenhouse gasses being emitted and the damage being caused to our planet.

What is woven polypropylene used for?

Due to its heavy duty and tear resistant properties, our woven polypropylene bags are ideal for many different uses. They are particularly useful for transporting or storing heavy items or things which may be sharp and pierce a standard plastic bag.

Our larger bags are particularly favoured within the building industry and have been known to reduce workloads on site. Whilst our large bags are capable of carrying heavier goods, it is important to not fill these bags to the limit, to mitigate the risk of injury through manual lifting.

We believe that our large polypropylene bag, which is 99x124cm, is the largest bag you can purchase within the UK!

Whilst we believe that we have the largest polypropylene bag in the UK, we can also provide you with an array of different coloured bags which can help to make organisation much easier for your working day. Store your products in different coloured bags and help your team identify which of your product is in each bag. They are available in red, blue, green, black, white, and transparent.

Our transparent bags are perfect for clients which require their products to be viewed for their customers and your team during sales, storage, or transportation.
